On October 15, 2020, the new version of the information technology equipment standard ICES-003 Issue 7 issued by the Canadian ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada) will forcefully replace ICES-003 Issue 6 on October 15, 2021.
Change Description
Compared with the old version, ICES-003 Issue 7 mainly has the following changes:
The equipment contains digital functions and WPT functions. In addition to meeting the requirements of RSS-216, it also needs to meet the requirements of ICES-003.
Radiation limits adopt new limit requirements.
The test method adopts CAN/CSA-CISPR 32:17 or ANSI C63.4.
The outdoor unit of the home satellite receiving system must meet the requirements of CAN/CSA-CISPR 32:17 section A.2 and Table A.7, and the maximum test frequency should be 18GHz.
The general requirements are moved to the standard ICES-Gen, and the label still accepts the following formats:
-CAN ICES-003 (B) / NMB-003 (B)
-CAN ICES-3 (B) / NMB-3 (B)
-CAN ICES3(B)/NMB3 (B)
Expert tips
The new version will be enforced on October 15, 2021. Products newly exported to Canada or sold in the Canadian market must meet the requirements of ICES-003 Issue 7. It is recommended that customers use the new version for certification from now on.
